Aunty Bunny, round 4!

Claire Violet Cahill, welcome to this crazy world and even crazier fambily!

We love you to squishy tiny pieces already, and are glad you look like your Mummy! And rest assured - your big sister Shelby will get over you being cute and tiny and stealing all her attention and love you better than anyone. I yelled that my favourite was ugly too!

Love,
Aunty Bunny

day 13.

I have too much free time on my hands here, therefore, I write.

My days are spent talking, often without any reply. Talk, talk talk. Listening comes in ninety minute intervals, twice a day, but there is no conversation. I yearn for petty inquires on the weather; I ache for awkward small talk about sports, television, anything at all, so long as it doesn’t scratch the surface. Anything that doesn’t go deep and pull out the pain. But this is how we heal. We spill our secrets into the center of the circle then set them alight. They burn and then they’re out, they’re gone, and this is meant to heal. I suppose it averts any further trauma caused by holding on so tight (or such is the intention), but how does it help the damage that’s already been done? How do we fix what’s been broken for so long?

Maybe the trick isn’t fixing it at all. Maybe we’re meant to learn to live with these past hurts, meant to find a way to push them down and block them out. Accept that it’s part of us. Learn to cope. Only certain mechanisms are acceptable, of course, that’s why we end up here. This is a pessimistic outlook.

The time I spend thinking on this is too much already.

I wanted to write something happy when I logged in. I wanted to try and find positives in a week that doesn’t have many. I wanted to look forward enough to be past all of this. I wanted to find the brightness and hold onto it.

I have a lot to look forward to. I have things I want to do with myself, big things and little things. I wish I could get there faster, because I am tired of living like I have been. I want more. I want better. Change is coming. Change… is hard. But it's coming.

I'm 13 days closer. I'll get there someday.

Someday.

Congratulations, my Soundwaves!
You my babies deserved all the awards, but three is not shabby at all.
Also Uncle Murray. Like you need anymore tokens of your awesomeness though? Really.

That's the most important thing I have to say. It's not what anyone wants to hear from me at the moment, I am well aware of that. But I'd like to keep some things to myself right now. It's rare... it's new, and it's the new standard. I appreciate the concern, but please don't try to find your way in. I need time with myself and my family if anything is going to improve.

Things are okay. Up and down, but getting steadily better. Today is 12 days, and I am proud of that - it's harder than you can imagine for some of us. My brothers come and see me a lot, and my sisters when they can. My Mum stays close. We have another little Laine (a Cahill model, limited edition) coming in a few days and I am excited for her arrival. I have Baby Dior shoes for her. I'm having a tea party with my best friends sometime soon, and I have a new plushy pet. An elephant, he is fat and named Chunk, and stuffed with lots of love. I'm planning a trip to Japan and spending Christmas with my family and my best friend, on the beach. I'd rather focus on the up than the down.

I have the best friends and family in the world and I don't know what I'd do without them. You know who you are... and thank you. We'll all get through this.

If you can't spare five minutes, I sure as hell am not going to spare your feelings.

Game over.

don't believe the hype.

nothing lasts forever
nothing gold can stay
nothing's what it seems.

everything changes
everything's different
everything ends.

always and forever, always and forever, always and forever.

happily ever after?
happily never after.
