I <3 NY

It's not a secret anymore. I'm in New York!

I've been here for two weeks now (I think? I haven't been keeping very much track of time), and it's been quite lovely. The weather is nice, the people are great (I don't know where this rude New Yorker thing comes from, everyone is much nicer/less invasive here than in LA), and shopping is, obviously, incomparable. I haven't done that much, strangely, I've mostly been sticking around homes with friends, keeping to myself - out of trouble, and out of the limelight, as much as I possibly can. Me time, you know?

We never really had seasons at home - in 'winter' it chilled a bit more at night, but that was pretty much the extent of it. In LA, it's basically the same. I've been around New York a lot over the past six months, between one of my best friends living here, and my brother relocating. Spring is absolutely beautiful. Everything is so green - well, Central Park is, and we're close. Green, with sporadic bursts of colour, where the flowers are starting to blossom and everything is so fresh. It seems like it changed overnight - when I arrived, everything was still recovering from the frost, just getting its life back from the harsh cold of winter. Suddenly, life returns, as vibrant and bright as ever.

Honestly, it hits home. I'm just getting my life back, starting to blossom and grow after a harsh cold, and it feels good. So good.

My birthday is Sunday. My original intent was to write about this, throw you all off the trail of when and where my party is going to be. But I don't think it's necessary - you New Yorkers are too cool to stalk, for the most part... and those who aren't, will likely not be stalking me but my cute boys in bands. And a false trail won't thwart you. So I will just let you figure it out yourselves, and see you there (if you're good enough). I don't think any of my brothers are going to make it, but everyone knows who I hang with. They'll be there... ready set go!

Anyway, I'm out. Just ran through Central Park with my beagle. Need a shower. Need to call Cam. Stop fangirling, fangirls. xoxo

in defense of the fambily.

I will never understand why people actually believe such bullshit. I have a brother who's the best person I know, and is the single reason both myself and his husband are in one piece at this very moment. How can anyone possibly believe a psycho slutbag like Lily Aultman about anything is beyond me. No one is perfect, but Julian Jonsson (Julian LAINE, actually) has grown up more in the past few months than I could have ever imagined possible, and he's pretty fucking close. He's an amazing dad already, and he's so full of love, I am not sure how his sweater vests aren't bursting at the seams. My favourite boy is now a man, and he's a stand up one at that - any baby would be lucky to have him as an uncle, a cousin, a friend... and the very luckiest get him as a Daddy. No one in their right mind is gonna take that away from this little boy.

Sit down, bitch, you're not going to win. Keep your mouth shut before we slap you with a gag order.

And Froggy? You know I wasn't going to keep quiet on this, so shhh. I love you, and I thank my stars that we've got you. We wouldn't be us without you. You're amazing. Keep your chin up baby.

I don't believe in angels, but
I am pretty sure whoever is up there made you just for me.
Well, just for us

Thank you for being you, and making things okay by existing.

I love you.

two weeks in a nutshell.

Brothers and snowmen and kittens and mittens. Sushi, taxis. People, people, more people. Anonymity and notoriety. Music. Friends, family, phone calls. Skyscrapers, trees, subways and streets. Apologies and promises. Burning bridges, mended fences. Cold air. Plans.

Happy place? Happy place.
